My paintings often form the basis for my ceramics. Although the materials are very different I work in a similar way as I paint. Forming layers to create depth and intrigue and building up textures with a variety of mediums. I like adding the bold splashes of colour, as I do with slips and glazes on ceramics,  on the otherwise muted palette. Once again my daily wanderings take me over new and familiar landscapes and through all sorts of weathers and seasons - these form the subject of my paintings.
